Land of Sky's WestNGN team is creating an internet affordability pilot for Buncombe county residents. They have reached out to similar programs around the country and are planning to offer prepay hotspot internet plans with monthly and annually autopay options. Participants will purchase a hotspot, estimated at around $25 that they will own and internet service will not exceed $15/month. This plan is half the cost of the least expensive traditional internet plan locally and allows for some of the funds to build back into the program for expansion and sustainability.
